TAMING THE FRIZ!

We all have struggled or still struggle with the dreaded friz, in this page we will give you awesome information about what causes the frizzing and how you can tame the beast and be free from its grasp.

Why does my hair frizz, anyway?

What causes your hair to frizz?

Frizz is caused by humidity, but also a lack of moisture in the air.

It is a lot like instant snow, your hair is dry inside your home, it is humid outside. you go out and your "thirsty" hair drinks up the water. Just like that your hair poofs up. This can be really annoying if you live in highly humid areas.

Luckily for you, I have 4 solutions for you.

1. Glycerin packed Shampoo

Shampoo packed with glycerin is what you want. The glycerin penetrates your hair and fills it with moisture, as an added bonus glycerin leaves a protective coating on your hair preventing the moisture from escaping.

2. Condition!

Keeping your cuticles moisturized and cared for prevents it from absorbing extra water. Get a good conditioner that also contains glycerin. never condition your scalp as your hair will become oily, only condition your tips and mid lengths.

3. Twice a week, only use conditioner on your hair.

As in our previous blogs you will see that your hair needs to be Shampooed only twice a week. Use conditioner every two days, conditioner also contain cleaning agents, but is less harse on your hair and keeps your hair moisturized.

4. Let your hair air dry 90% of the way before blow-drying.

I normally disapprove the use of a blow dryer as it destroys hair and causes you unnecessary difficulties. But I know we are all in a rush and you may have no other choice. Let your hair dry at  least 80-90% by itself or by dabbing a towel. This will keep your hair smooth and then you can add gentle heat with a blow dryer, cold is preferred.
